Vehicular Protection
System (Part No CSA-SAM)
The
Samplair system has been specifically designed for vehicular protection.
Many countries have now adopted smoking bans on all public transport,
but until recently with the launch of the Cig-Arrete* Samplair system
there has been no effective way of monitoring for ETS.
Designed to be
installed covertly, the Samplair is an aspirating system which utilizes
a sampling tube connected to a speaker type grill. The cabin air supply
is drawn in through the grill and tube assembly and passed over the
sensing element. On activation, the Samplair outputs a signal to an
externally mounted sounder, flasher unit or voice alarm.
By
utilizing the voice alarm module, passengers are alerted by means of a
voice message urging them to refrain from smoking. Simultaneously, the
driver is aware of a problem through a remote monitoring module situated
in the drivers compartment.
Research
has shown that during the voice alert, other nonsmoking passengers
exert a degree of peer group pressure toward the smokers, resulting in
the cigarettes being extinguished.
The Samplair system will
then auto-reset after a predetermined alarm period awaiting the next
alarm activation sample.
Many operators of public
service vehicles have utilized the Samplair to comply with the demands
of their customers to travel on smoke free vehicles.
Other uses of the Samplair
system include fire detection on parked or out of service vehicles,
monitoring of arson by vandals and cabinet protection throughout the
electrical and telecommunications industries. |
